Classical
In the classical ketogenic diet, around 82-90% of energy (also known as calories) come from fat, with the other 10-18% being made up of of energy from protein and carbohydrate combined. This diet is based on a ratio of grams of fat to grams of protein and carbohydrate combined e.g. 4 to 1 (4g fat to 1g of protein and carbohydrate combined) down to 2 to 1 (2g fat to 1g of protein and carbohydrate combined). Your ratio will be determined by your keto team or dietitian.
